At the Stevenage 'Regionals' on March 20th 2005, the Crystal Palace Band came 4th from 13 competing bands in the Second Section. The hard work that the band had put in over the early weeks of 2005 really paid off. The band was promoted to the first division Click for results. Not so good in 2006, however. In the new division 14th out of 15. It is tough at the top!

We have had five fabulous summer trips with the Crystal Palace Band for the August Bank Holiday weekends, 2001 in Rudesheim Germany, 2002 in Epernay France (Click for diary), 2003 in Fort William (Pictures) and 2004 in France (Pictures). 2001 was our centenary year. Following the death of our dear Chairman, Roger Clements, in February 2005, there was no tour in August 2005 but in 2006 we had a trip to Cornwall, playing at St Keverne and at Falmouth. The Phoenix SCOLA Adult Education Wind Band goes from strength to strength. The band had a concert in Windsor Great Park on 7th July 2001and the musical director with 3 band members were presented to the late Queen Mother Click for picture. In the 2001 Sutton Music festival, the band won the 'Silver Medal' in the ensemble section with a rendering of 'Balladair', 'Marching to the Savoy' and 'Shake Rattle and Roll'.
